In 2030, the FIFA World Cup will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Argentina wants to co-host that anniversary. Together with Uruguay, Chile, and Paraguay, the Argentina Football Association (FA) has submitted a bid to host the World Cup. Eurosport confirmed the news.
Uruguay hosted the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930. The host defeated Argentina in the final. Latin American soccer’s heartthrobs want the tournament’s centenary in the place where it all started. Chile hosted the World Cup in 1962. And Argentina hosted the World Cup in 1978.
Paraguay has yet to host a World Cup. President of the Uruguayan Football Federation Ignacio Alonso said, “After 100 years, the World Cup should be held where it started.”

In 2024, FIFA will reveal which nation will host the 2030 World Cup. The host nations must make all necessary preparations before this.
The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar. The 2026 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
